Team 3132: Thunder Down Under
Thunder Down Under Team 3132 from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia was honored with the 2017 Championship Chairman’s Award at the Houston World Championships.
Team 3132: Thunder Down Under won the Chairman’s Award at the 2017 Houston FRC Championship. Their RoboCamps encouraged a strong STEM education for kids in Sydney by starting FLL teams and the FRCers of tomorrow. They donated time, talent, and funds to various schools and programs in an effort to spread FIRST‘s message to their community. Robots in the Outback
The Robots In The Outback program started in 2015 as a fun road trip to give aboriginal kids the opportunity to build robots. After impacting more than 30 communities, the program is continuously expanding. It has been viewed as a way to provide a STEM education to rural towns, and allows for students everywhere to get involved with FIRST.
